In 2006, the United States Mint introduced its first and only 1 oz .9999 Gold coin with the Gold Buffalo. The Gold coin was instantly a huge success, providing competition for the Canadian Gold Maple Leafs. Since then, the Gold Buffalo has become a widely popular addition to any Gold bullion collection.
In 2007, the United States Mint released the first four coins in a series of Gold First Spouse Coins. These coins are the government's first 1/2 oz .9999 fine Gold coins and are also the first commemorative 1/2 oz Gold coins. With a face value of $10, these Gold coins are minted and released annually in the order the First Ladies served in the White House. Each First Spouse Gold Coin will be minted in Uncirculated and Proof conditions and will coincide with the release of the four annual Presidential $1 Coins.
The obverse of each First Spouse Gold coin features a portrait of the First Lady with an inscription of their name, presidential order and years of their term as first spouse, along with the year of minting. The reverse highlights a unique image emblematic of that spouse's life and work. In the few cases when a president served without a spouse, a Gold coin is issued bearing an image of Liberty, while the reverse shows an image depicting the president's life.
When it comes to commemorative coins, no nation has surpassed the United States! Since the U.S. Mint began producing commemorative coins in 1892, they have honored important aspects of American history and culture. Commemorative coins have real historical significance, giving them an appeal that allures even those normally uninterested in numismatics.
Gold Commemorative coins come in a variety of sizes and denominations, allowing for a wide range of options when building a collection. Browsing our selection, you will find U.S. Commemoratives honoring important people, places and events in our nation's young history. Because each piece is a unique piece of history, they make a great addition to investment portfolios and numismatic collections.
The U.S. Mint issued its first Gold coins in 1795. During the height of the Great Depression in 1933, President Franklin Roosevelt prohibited American citizens from holding monetary Gold. He ordered all Gold U.S. coins be returned to the U.S. Treasury, where millions were melted into Gold and then cast into Gold bars.
These federal government recalls and meltdowns made these previously common Gold coins very rare. Today, the surviving pre-1933 Gold U.S. coins are fixed at an extremely limited supply. This fact has made pre-1933 Gold coins some of the most desirable items among collectors and investors.
One of the most beautiful coins in the world, the Mexican Libertad is .999-fine. The reverse features the Mexican National Seal with the official name for Mexico in Spanish: "Estados Unidos Mexicanos." Outlining the contour of the frame is the reproduction of various coats of arms used throughout Mexico’s history.
The obverse depicts two key symbols of the Mexican people: the Winged Victory statue in the forefront and the Mexican volcanoes Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl in the background. The Angel of Independence statue is the main historic monument for the Mexican people and is considered the symbol of Mexico City. The Mexican volcanoes memorialize the legend of the two lovers for whom they were named.

The Mexican Gold Peso bullion coins are some of the most beautiful gold coins in the world. While gold prices fluctuate, the popularity of the Mexican Gold Peso bullion coins only increases due to the gold coin's outstanding gold bullion value. The Mexican Gold Peso appeals to investors and collectors alike for its high gold bullion content. Minted in Mexico City, the Mexican Gold Peso coins contain 90% pure gold and 10% copper. The addition of copper during the minting process gives the Gold Peso coins a hardness that gold alone cannot provide. With the presence of copper, the Gold Peso coins were able to withstand the wear of circulation.
Gold Maple Leaf bullion coins are a great way to invest in Gold, and many consider the Maple Leaf to be one of the world's most beautiful Gold coins. The obverse of the Gold Maple Leaf features Queen Elizabeth II, while the reverse of this 24-karat Gold coin depicts the iconic Canadian Maple Leaf. Each Maple Leaf Gold coin is legal Canadian Gold tender guaranteed by the Government of Canada for its weight and purity. At up to .99999-fine pure Gold, the Maple Leaf bullion coins are some of the world’s premier Gold bullion coins.
Many Maple Leaf coins are eligible for precious metals IRAs

Introduced by Emperor Huan Ti in 2637 BC, the Chinese lunar calendar consists of a 12-year cycle, with each year featuring a different representative animal: the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. The character of each animal is believed to influence the events and political and economic conditions of its year, as well as the personality of individuals born during its cycle.
The personal connection of the each year's animal to the individuals born in that year makes the Chinese lunar calendar a popular subject for collectible coins.
